Ottawa –We’ve received calls from both residential and business customers of Brama Telecom telling us that their service has been shut off without notice or explanation. Most of them say that they’ve tried to contact Brama to find out why, but they can’t get through.
Fortunately, the majority of these customers can simply find a new provider if Brama cannot continue service. For those who wish to retain their phone number, it may be possible to do so.
Those customers should contact our Call Centre at 1-888-221-1687 and we’ll provide you with more information. Commercial disputes between resellers (companies like Brama) and wholesalers (larger companies that allow smaller ones access to their infrastructure) are something we’ve highlighted before, specifically in our 2013-14 Annual Report. Back then, we noted that customers shouldn’t be caught in the middle of such conflicts. We even tried to make an arrangement with the wholesaler, so customers could keep their numbers. Unfortunately, we weren’t successful.
This time, however, customers failed by Brama’s commercial difficulties may be able to move on without losing their numbers.
