Your Role: 

As a General Research Analyst, you will support the Director, Legal and Regulatory as a part of the CCTS Legal, Regulatory and Compliance team. You will have the opportunity to hone your research skills as you conduct research and document findings on Participating Service Provider records and status, corporate registries, ombudsman best-practices, privacy, telecommunications and more! You will use your keen attention to detail to review and analyze various technical materials (including CRTC-developed Codes of Conduct) to produce informational documents for various stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to support regulatory proceedings by summarizing various interventions and hearings, and monitoring parliamentary affairs, committee hearings and new legislation.

You are an experienced researcher with a strong ability to understand technical material and distill key points. You have excellent judgement and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail that allows you to work with a high degree of accuracy. You are adaptable, have a flexible approach to manage multiple priorities in a fluid environment. You are excited to learn, adapt and expand your skills with shifting tasks and priorities.

Must-have magic: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting research and analysis
  • Post-secondary education (minimum college diploma), preferably in a field related to legal studies or business
  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills, with an unbiased and professional approach to your work and research
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly (both orally and in writing). A strong preference will be given to candidates with excellent writing skills in both French and English.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload and utilize time management techniques
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Prior telecom experience is an asset
