CCTS Makes Minor Amendment to Procedural Code
CCTS has recently made a minor amendment to its Procedural Code. This was designed to bring the Procedural Code into line with the decision of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2011-46.
The CRTC has determined that telecommunications service providers not currently participating in the CCTS dispute-resolution process will be required to do so upon receiving notice from CCTS that one of their customers has filed a complaint. The Procedural Code previously prevented CCTS from accepting customer complaints that arose prior to the service provider having begun to participate in CCTS.
CCTS has now amended section 8 of its Procedural Code to permit the acceptance and investigation of such complaints. A minor amendment was also made to section 11 of the English version to correct a paragraph numbering error.
