Structure and Funding

We are a not-for-profit organization under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act.  Governance is provided by an independent Board of Directors which ensures our independence.

We bill participating service providers for our services.  They pay a one-time fee that is based on the amount of their Canadian telecommunications revenues.  They also pay fees on an annual basis under a funding formula that includes:

• a fee based on each provider’s proportion of participating providers’ Canadian telecommunications revenues; and
• a fee based on the number of complaints we receive from each provider’s customers.
